The Parallel Body // Corps Parallèles : Poem 36

if I was to call you by your name
you who are both rock and gull both wave and sun

if I were to call for you here in the blue
I would expect the blueness of the sea to caress my face
I would hope to feel the waves on my naked body

if I was to call your name
I would cry in vain for an echo
